fibroids - anyone else?

Yesterday at my 12 week scan 3 fibroids were detected. Thankfully all is well with LO! Spent most of last night worrying abour possible complications. trying to arrange an appointment to see the consultant but would be interested to hear anyone else's experiences.

I had one in my last pregnancy which caused no problems; this time around I'm having an extra scan at 34w to re-check the size. I think it depends on the size and position; if it turns out I need a c-section for example they would have to avoid cutting through them. If they're small and up and out of the way of the cervix, I think they're less of a problem.

They noticed a fibroid at my 12-wk scan too (well, 10w5d but I didn't know that til I got there!). They didn't seem in the least bit concerned about it, as it was a long way away from Nipper and his / her exit route. So, I'm not worried either.
They did refer me to a consultant, but that was over 2 weeks ago and I've heard nothing so I'm guessing the consultant ain't fussed either.

Thanks for your replies. Spoke to the midwife who said that providing they don't cause me any problems then all should be fine, fingers crossed. Guess I may need another scan though to check their size... Feeling better already.
