This is my first pregnancy and i'm 14 weeks but i'm in so much pain. Spoke to the midwife today and she said it sounds like my ribs are moving up and my pelvis is moving out to make way for the baby to grow. Anyway my ribs, my hips especially, my waist and my thighs are aching sooo much. How do you relieve these aches and pains? Any ideas will be welcomed!!!

Buy and blow-up a birth ball, and then sit/gently bounce on it in the evenings. It takes the weight and strain off your pelvis and pelvic floor and I found it really helps.

Also, if your ribs are hurting too, then get your OH to stand behind you whilst you're sitting on the ball, and ask him to slowly stretch your arms straight up above your head. I love the feeling of extra space in my abdomen this stretch gives!

Oh, and a nice long warm bath is always worth a try.
