Weight gain stopped for 3 weeks at 31w?

Should I be worried? I was gaining weight steadily through the 2nd trimester, but since 28w my weight has stayed the same, for 3 weeks now. I know different women gain weight differently through pregnancy, but I'm sure the baby is supposed to be packing on about 1lb/week at this stage. Is it worth phoning my midwife, or is this quite normal?

I put on a bit more than average up to a few weeks ago (now 30 weeks). The last few weeks however i have been much less hungry and struggle to fit in a full meal as i think bubs may be squashing my stomach, so i too have put on hardly any weight since 27 weeks. I would say if bump is still measuring the right size at your MW checkups then its not anything to worry about. If you start losing weight however i would definately ask MW for advice.

Why are you weighing yourself?! Of course its nothing to worry about - a good thing I reckon!

What can I say brettgirl (are you a FotC fan btw?), I like torturing myself Grin I've been checking my weight more to make sure I'm not gaining too much, and to compare to my last pregnancy. As long as the baby is growing fine I'm quite glad to not be gaining any more :) I have a scan in 2 weeks and a mw appt the week after that, so I guess they'll be able to check that everything is measuring as it should be.

Sound about right to me - around this time babe concentrates on brain development and weight gain slows down for a few weeks, then ramps up like crazy!

Thanks, that's reassuring. It was just odd to see the number on the scales staying the same when it'd been increasing so steadily before :)
