I'm 25 weeks with DC2 and feel HUUUUUUUUUUGE. I just don't remember feeling like this with DD. I'm having to roll onto my side to get up, hold my breath when doing shoe laces up, back hurts more, feel heavier, and just generally look much further along than I did with DD at this stage.

Anyone else get this? Normal? It's 19 months since I had DD so it's not like it's years down the line and, yes, I am less fit than I was with DD.

yes definitely much bigger this time. 34 weeks now and have been ready to pop for some time now!

BuntyCollocks · 07/08/2012 11:41

I'm smaller this time around, but that's mostly because I've not made the same mistake as I did with DC1, which was to eat like a pig, with the most excellent excuse "Baby wants cake". Blush

I am much much bigger this time round, I keep getting looks of surprise when I tell people I still have at least 5 weeks to go Hmm. Although oddly I've actually put on less weight than I did with DS.

My excuse is that only had 8 months between pregnancies and my abs just didn't have time to recover. I'm also carrying quite differently this time.

MadMonkeys · 07/08/2012 14:57

Yeah I'm loads bigger too. 34 weeks and I'm bigger now than I was when I delivered DD. My mw very tactfully likened it to blowing up a balloon - the first time it's hard to do, but the second time it blows up and bulges out everywhere - her words, not mine Grin

Definitely much bigger! And I'm only 13 weeks! About the same as I was at 5ish months the first time. Mum is convinced I'm having twins! (two scans say otherwise!)

MissPollysTrolleyed · 07/08/2012 20:00

Yes, definitely much bigger. 32 weeks here and also bigger than at my due date last time. I was okay until about 18 weeks and have just grown massively ever since. I've run out of maternity clothes and my bras are all too small. I've been wearing nursing bras as they are my biggest but even they are too small around the back so I'm generally taking them off the second I get home and am thinking about wearing my yoga bras from now on so I can be comfy if completely shapeless.

I felt much bigger in the bump area but I actually weighed less then before I was pregnant due to hyperemesis.

littler1 · 07/08/2012 21:34

yep definately bigger this time round, i'm 30 weeks and already as big as i was on my due date last time.
misspolly have you tried bra extenders?? they're fab, i got some from ebay a few weeks ago, also i saw them in hobbycraft of all places last week.

ItsMyLastOne · 07/08/2012 21:57

Yep, loads bigger this time. I'm 23 weeks but even 3 weeks ago I was getting people asking me if I was due soon! Blush

Badgerina · 07/08/2012 22:49

I don't think I look bigger (I HOPE I don't look bigger), but I certainly feel bigger. I ache more, waddle more, and generally feel huge and heavily pregnant in a way I certainly didn't feel last time (8 years ago). I'm coming up to 34 weeks and don't know how I'll cope with 6/7 more weeks Confused

ComradeJing · 08/08/2012 02:04

That's how I feel Badgerina! I know I look bigger though too :o

Glad it's not just me ladies!

Littler thanks for the tip on the bra extender. Have just ordered one.

That reminds me that I bought a clothes extender on Amazon for my favourite non-maternity jeans earlier on in pregnancy and the people reviewing were all saying how they were really useful to take on a cruise / all-inclusive resort holiday Grin. This cheered me up no end and made me remember that we have very good reason to be chubbing up and should probably embrace it more.
