Hello everyone just after some advice from you lovely people and can't seem to get help from anyone else.

I have been in quite alot of pain since sat, it started of with a stitch like pain in my sides on sat, then I was getting a tightening just above my bellybutton which is really uncomfortable and painful at times. Is pain is my frequent in the evenings.
I am now getting a strong pain along with this which I can only describe as my insides being parted down the middle and can feel a sharp pain low down, I have also had a bit of back ache but not regular.

I spoke to the midwife sat night and she said to just take paracetamol and have a bath and rest, this didn't really help. It wasn't too bad sunday daytime but started again in the evening. I rang the labour suite this morning and they said it could be a water infection and to go to the doctors, I could only get in with the nurse. She said I had protein and a small amount of white blood cells in my urine so gave me antibiotics incase it is a water infection but i'm still having alot of pain.

Just wondered if it could be the start of my body getting ready for labour of if anyone has had a water infection that has caused pain like this.

Sorry it is so long and I am 32 weeks pregnant.

At 32 weeks I'd contact your triage/daycare whatever provision you have to be seen in the hospital tomorrow. You may need different antibiotics, and if these are the right ones they should be having some effect by tomorrow. Drink plenty of water and take regular paracetamol.

SPD?

Speak to your midwife again, she's there to help you.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi!

I am also 32 weeks and had this last week. This is my third baby and whilst I am used to BH these were way more painful Confused. They were like proper contractions, all the way round my bump and back, and we're coming every 5-6 minutes.

I called triage at my local hospital and they advised me to take two paracetamol and call them back in an hour. Paracetamols didn't really help and an hour later when I called back they advised me to go in for monitoring.

Was on the feral monitor for more than an hour, and because baby's heartbeat was a wee bit slow they got a consultant to do an internal exam-she confirmed my cervix was closed and I was not in labour and that I must just be experiencing very painful BH!

So I would say probably best to keep a note of the times/length etc when they occur and DEFINITFLY call your midwife, just for the peace of mind. Hope all goes ok for you.

Thanks everyone, I will keep an eye on times etc and call my midwife if the antibiotics don't help.
I just seem to get fobbed off by everyone I speak to, just hope it starts to ease soon. X

Yeah definitely keep on at the midwife/triage etc if you are still getting the pains, better to get checked out and set your mind at rest then you can relax knowing baby is just moving about and getting ready to meet you!

Hope all goes well and you're not in too much pain tonight.

Hi just to update in case anyone is in the same situation.
Went to the maternity assessment unit at the hospital yesterday morning and they did an internal and took some swabs, they did a test that I didn't know existed to see if i'm likely to go into labour in next 7 days. It came back positive so they explained as i'm only 32 weeks they would be keeping me in and I had to have steroid injections to mature babies lungs incase it decides to make an appearance.
They have given neonatal a heads up which is a bit scary. Just a waiting game now. X
