Is it too early to have a bump?

I am 11 weeks exactly and discovered on getting ready for work this morning that I already have a bump and can't wear most of my work clothes! Given that I've been eating like a horse in my attempts to stop feeling sick (no it doesn't work but I keep trying!), I'm not too suprised, but now I'm really worried as everyone keeps telling me I shouldn't be putting on too much weight yet. Plus I remember my sister getting married at about 16 weeks and you really couldn't tell she was pregnant at that point... Am I going to turn into a whale??? Anyone else can't stop eating? When will I stop feeling sick (please!)?

I was exactly the same at 11 weeks but it wasn't really bump it was bloating and (ahem) constipation from all the carbs I'd been eating. I think I was actually thinner at 16 weeks than 11 weeks after the bloating went down! I found the sickness went about 13 weeks but it does vary a lot from person to person.

Is it your first pg?
With my first I noticed a bump at about 12/14 weeks but with DS2 I had a very obvious bump and couldn't do my jeans up at 8/9 weeks!
Everyone is different though - my sister didn't really show till about 6 months (but she is a skinny cow and was back in her jeans a month after giving birth EnvyGrin )

Kaluki I think we have the same sister! And my sister was 9 years younger than I am now so I reckon it was easier for her Wink

Grin I hope not - my sister is a right little madam!!
I can remember eating like a pig too. Couldn't stop!
I think the sickness stops at 12 weeks usually. Apparently being sick means the baby is healthy Smile

I know, it's a weird feeling, wanting to stop feeling yucky but knowing that one day when I do stop I'll probably just start worrying that it means something's wrong!
First pg, everything is scary, just want to ask a million questions, all the time...
Thanks for the advice Smile

It's bloat! I had a sizeable bump at 8 weeks which is gradually diminishing.

Nope - I had a bump at 11 weeks, was in maternity jeans at 7 weeks due to bloating (!) and this is my first pregnancy. It's only one, too!

I had a big bloaty bump from about 9-10 weeks (was getting difficult to fit into normal work clothes and conceal the fact I was pg!). Decreased a bit, but now 14 weeks, and clearly pg - bump v obvious - people asking if twins (no way!). I think we're all just different...
