Truffle mushroom worries - help!

hi, please help me! I am pregnant for the first time and worry about everything I have and haven't eaten! I went to a restaurant the other night and ate black truffle mushrooms in pasta - it was delicious but now I'm stressing that I shouldn't have eaten it because of toxoplasmosis and/or listeria. I did throw it all up a few hours after anyway to be fair. Everyone who I've asked has said not to worry but I need more reassurance! Thanks.

Is this a new thing? I ate truffles all through my pregnancy and no one suggested I shouldn't.

Mushrooms are a great source of vitamins.

No it's probably me making things up! I couldn't find an answer anywhere as to whether truffles were safe. I needed someone like you to say exactly what you just did - thanks!! X

What is about truffles that makes you worry about them particularly? Is it maybe that they're just a less familiar part of your diet? Not sure why they would be different to any other edible mushrooms in terms of food poisoning risk.

I think its probably mainly that - I had never eaten them before. The thing I am most worrying about I think is the possibility that they weren't washed - I don't know whether restaurants would wash them (it was Italy). And because they were raw, the not washing could be a problem? Silly, I know!
