Initially my husband was in complete denial, couldn't believe it was true.

When I showed him the test and he checked the instructions to compare results he hid under the covers for ages in silence, then popped his head out and said (referring to himself and his cushty lifestyle)

"Does this mean Peter Pan has finally got to grow up"?

What about yours?? Grin

Mine said "really? How did that happen?" and then said nothing for 2 days!

MammytoMany - Jeez you and your baby definitely sound better off without this man (man is probably too complimentary a word). Good luck to you xx

WantanOrange - Good on you, it's nice to hear a positive teen pregnancy story (so much negativity in the press) xx

Mammy - that's just so sad. I'm so sorry.

Yep, same bloke Bike, he can be sweet occasionally

kate2boysandabump · 05/08/2012 17:37

1st time: You're pregnant! (He read the test faster than me)

2nd time: You're pregnant! (He read the test faster than me again Hmm )

3rd time: WOW!! That's brilliant.......did you sneak off to the bathroom without me?

I wanted to be the one to do the telling at least once Grin

I went downstairs to tell him - and he was in the study on the phone. So I stood in the hall in my pjyamas waiting for half an hour while he talked about deployment or something to a colleague. (To be fair, he didn't know I had POAS.) When he came off the phone, I went in and showed him the stick, and he said really calmly, "Oh?" and then "OH!" - Grin and Shock. Then he didn't dare to be happy about it until after the scan in case something went wrong, but ever since then he's been almost irritatingly Grin.

jammiecat · 05/08/2012 18:43

My DH grinned and then said "well done". At which point I pointed out that he might have had something to do with it too!

bumbez · 05/08/2012 19:16

1st time - well it's not a big surprise, - he'd suspected due to my reluctance to hang out the washing as I couldn't stand the smell.

2nd time - he was faster reading the stick, and told me.

MickeyTheShortOne · 05/08/2012 20:19

"Oh." "Well at least we know my stuff works!!" He then swiftly went downstairs for a cigarette. Grin

Now he's excited!

thekidsarealright · 05/08/2012 20:26

Me about to board a plane to work away for a week:

"Don't ask me why (my period wasn't due for a few days but had an overwhelming need to POAS) but I've done a test and a faint line has come up."

"Fucking hell. I need to sit down. I've come over all funny."

He was pleased as punch though Grin

Today, I POAS to rule out pregnancy, shoued 'holy shit' from the bathroom, then ran out t him, shoved the stick in his face, saying 'what do you see there?'

He was slightly confused! I cried and said 'i think that says I'm pregnant', he swept me into his arms and cried (teafs of joy) with me.

After an hour of shick and googling what it meant (!) we drove to Lloyds and got 2 more tests; I peeded, he dipped...we read them together and cried some more.

That was about two hours ago Grin
