Hi. I'm 36+2 weeks pregnant and have polyhydramnios. My bump is huge measuring 45cm, and my AFI is 33. I'm desperate to have this baby very soon! I'm soo sore and uncomfortable (I also have pelvic instability) I can hardly move Sad. I have a scan at 38 weeks, and I'll see my midwife and consultant that day too, but nothing til then. I'm scared of the cord being flushed out first if my waters break, and I just need this baby out! Has anyone any experience of this? I really want to be induced at 37 weeks x

Hi Smile

I was exactly in your position not so long back, with the same fears. The cord prolapse was given as a worse case scenario, which I know feels like the only thing you can focus on doesn't it? I can remember playing the scene over and over in my head, of what I would do if it actually happened. With visions of the ambulance men arriving, being greeted by me with my arse up in the air on all fours Blush. And I had SPD the same as you, infact I was in a wheelchair for the last month of my pregnancy and being cared for by my parents. It was truly a crap time, so I really do understand where your emotions are right now.

I was so scared something would go wrong, and it being my first baby, I was petrified. It started to affect my mental health tbh, because I was so stressed and uptight. The lovely ladies of MN kept me sane for those last few weeks. In the end with me I was induced at 38 weeks, but due to crap hospital circumstances, Dd never arrived until 39 weeks .

When you see your consultant, make sure you are very clear about your fears. Just to warn you, I wanted to be induced at 37 weeks, and was told they would only do it on 38 weeks as baby was in no immediate danger. Never mind the fact they'd told me Dd had something wrong with her abdomen Hmm, which she never!! Am still very bitter Blush
