Should I be worried about this lump in my breast?

I'm 23 weeks pg and my boobs have grown and changed loads during this pregnancy.

Last week I noticed a lump in my breast. It's not round, it's a funny shape, about a cm long and 1/2cm wide, but curved, completely painless and right near the surface. It's about an inch and a half above my nipple.

Should I be worried, or is it most likely just to do with the changes in my breasts due to pregnancy? I didn't have any lumps in my last pregnancy though, but I know each pg is different.

Go to the GP and ask to see someone with experience in examining for breast lumps. Go quickly, do not ignore. It is likely nothing (breasts change a lot right now), but better to have someone examine you!

Is it mobile or adhered? Mobile lumps are as far as I'm aware not that worrying.

I had a similar lump to you when pregnant/breastfeeding. Had it investigated, was a lactoma, completely benign. Tended to get bigger/smaller depending on my hormonal state!

It's not at all mobile.

I've had fibroid enomas before but they were painful and just very different.

OP definitely go and see your GP. I had a lump when bfing and it turned out to be a cyst; it was drained and never returned. It was a relief to find out what it was. I think that perhaps breasts are more vulnerable to things like that when pg/bfing. You will be referred very quickly to a clinic and will have an answer soon (or at least that was my experience).
Good luck.

Yes go see gp but I had one but had kids before and said was an old galactocoel which had turned into cyst. Gp and clinic said even though usually nothing, they prefer you to get them checked out. They were v understanding.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll call the gp tomorrow as I'm at a funeral all day today.
I'm sure it'll be nothing but it's probably best for them to tell me that rather than me worrying iyswim. Smile

I had a breast ultrasound while pregnant. It turned out to be a cyst. It is very likely to be nothing serious, but getting it checked out saves loads of worry. Good luck, OP.
