Where the hell is everybody get such things? I'm leaving this a bit late as currently overdue, but whenever I've gone shopping for a nightie big enough to cover both bump and dignity I've got nowhere!

So what do others do? Are there special nighties you can get or are you just wearing big ones? I really don't want to spend much so don't really care much what it looks like - just want the coverage!!!

Like teachpeach I wore an old shirt of DH's. Lovely soft cotton, button down for easy access to boobs. Lovely emotional association with DH, standing up covers up all your dignity (!) but very easy access to the business end.

Oh, and as delivery suite was very hot, I found that I could button a couple of the middle buttons, keep boobs covered up whilst labouring and allow cool air around the bump and also meant that there was easy access for monitoring.

It's not a time for style, I think. I gave birth in a large orange T shirt with "Hakuna Matata" on the front and a pair of socks with "drunken floozie" on them. My finest moment in labour: "Shall I take my knickers off?" The midwife: "It might be helpful..."

I wore a hospital gown the first time and a spotty ancient nightshirt for the other two. It came to me second-hand and I wore it with dd2 expecting to trash it - but the blood washed out fine Grin You could look for ancient soft stuff at an NCT sale if there's one near you?
