Arghhh!! I'm only 34 weeks ish and all my maternity clothes are feeling very uncomfortable...

I'm living in over-the-bump preggo leggings (heaven!) and one long stretchy polka-dot dress that I have to wash every other day!! Feels too late to invest in any more clothes!!!

Borrow some from a friend, that's what I've done (at 31 weeks with No3). Suddenly feels like I've got lots more options when in fact it's just a couple of dresses and tops.

Get yourself down to H&M for a few cheap basics. You could have two months left if your baby arrives late. You can always sell it in eBay afterwards.

i had this problem in my first pregnancy, just get some large sized clothes now from a cheap shop like primark, i went from size 8 to a 22 and had my ds early!

I'm so glad its not just me. I'm 32 weeks and jeans are not as comfortable as they have been, its making me panic about how much weight I've put on/how much I'll have to loose after I give birth! I absolutely refuse to spend money on clothes atm, luckily I don't have to work so am spending many days in maternity pj's which are so comfortable!

I'm 33 weeks with #3 and have been living in the same 3 dresses for weeks!
My jeans felt uncomfortable at about 24 weeks onwards and I gave up with them at about 27 weeks.
I've got 2 pairs of over-the-bump leggings but even they dig in now Sad!
I just bought a mat maxi dress on ASOS for £14 in the sale - they have a few bits in the sale worth looking at.
I know it's annoying buying so late on, but you might get some use after the baby. Or for the next time!

Same here, I'm too big for some of my things from last pregnancy, and too big for things I bought early on this time round. I find it's the length that's a problem; I guess stuff 'rides up' over my massive bump and boobs, and if I'm not careful I end up exposing about an inch of my bump at the bottom.

I second the H&M recommendation; even in the non-maternity section they usually have some (cheap!) nice long stretchy tops that will do you after the birth as well.

Having said that, I've just remembered that last time round I had one pair of trousers that I lived in for the last month. Lovely stretchy black trousers, and when my waters broke in them I had to go to the hospital in a pair of running trousers, which were the only trousers stretchy enough to fit me BlushGrin

Yes same happened to me last time. I lived in a pair of mothercare yoga pants for the last month I guess only wearing jeans if i went out anywhere it was winter and the trousers were a bit thin to keep me warm. They had a fold over waistband so also solved the problem of not quite meeting. A second pair of theese is top of my list of things to buy this time around.

Not quite as bad as what you describe but was a bit miffed yesterday when one of my pairs of mat jeans declared themselves not up for the last 8ish weeks of the job... I do have other stuff to wear but I do understand your Angry.

Msdunny · 04/08/2012 11:09

I am going to primark this afternoon to get some larger clothes! 34 weeks too and maternity jeans are just not cutting it. I have even run out of pj's! Cheap and cheerful purchases are def needed for the last part.

randomimposter · 04/08/2012 11:12

ooo on pjs i recently bought some cropped jersey bottoms in my usual size from M&S that were buy one get one half price. They are very soft and stretchy and easily fit bump. Fab.

I sympathise...clothes have become my enemy...I change more in one day than Kate Middleton had to on Christmas day.
I can start the day wearing one thing then by the time I get home from work it's driving me mad and I have to put something else on.
Also this hot weather and working in a stuffy office has proven very hard.
I was quite lucky with dresses I already had which have been the right style or fabric to fit during my bump growth (31weeks at the moment) but I did recently invest in about 5 various colours of maternity leggings from eBay...they were only about £3 each, so perhaps won't last forever but should see me through to birth...fingers crossed.
I gave up on maternity jeans... They just proved to be unbearable round my bump or constantly falling down.
Anything round my waist even loose things are just so uncomfortable.
I can't wait to be able to wear my jeans again!...but until then leggings will have to do....with a long top or dress over though!!!
Luckily for us leggings are in fashion now. Xxxxxx

Dont forget you will need to wear them for a while after dc are born. My ds2 is 13 weeks and I'm still wearing some mat clothes despite me exercising 3+ times a week And watching what I eat. I would buy some new clothes just from asda and matalan not next and marks
