I'm 33 weeks and have has for the last hour or so quite an uncomfortable tightening pain around my belly button. It's worse than period cramp but only last a few seconds and comes in sort of waves.

I'm the biggest worrier going, if this pregnant belly came with a window for me to look in on the baby it'd be fine.

Anyone know what this is? Probably just muscles spreading or something?

Thanks!

Not sure what it is but bumping I case anyone else does :)

I have had something similar just to the left of my belly button, for about 2 weeks now.
Am 30 weeks today.
Feels like what your describing but more constant and the skin is sore to touch....almost like baby has bruised it?
Or like a pulled muscle maybe?

I think what you're describing are Braxton hicks contractions, and completely normal. I've been getting them too for the last week or so, I'm also 33 weeks!

It could just be trapped wind. I've had horrible episodes of this and I'm only 4 months. I have to double up on the yoghurt for a few days to make it go away - probiotics are the way to go on digestion issues, I find.

That said, if it's definitely not gas or bloating it's what people have said above!!
