Hi
I'm PG after IVF and trying for 3 years (got PG last year but miscarried at 7 weeks), since testing yesterday and getting the longed for BFP, i've been experiencing some uncomfortable period type pains on the right hand side of my belly.. no spotting or anything - anyone else had this? A bit concerned Confused

It's stretching pains most likely. Your uterus is going to grow many times its original size, and it starts early. It is normal, although scary, I had it with both my pregnancies, indeed, I'm still suffering at 19 weeks!

Congratulations on your PG after such a hard journey xx I had all sorts of aches and pains and cramps and shooting pains in the first few weeks. We also had a long journey to pregnancy so I was uber-paranoid about every twinge. I also had 2 bleeds at 7 and 8 weeks, but I am now 36 weeks PG. It's all totally normal, please try not to worry (as impossible and I know that is).

I had pains concentrated in my lower right hand side for a few weeks in the early days (weeks 4-7). I was terrified it was ectopic but it wasn't. I'm pretty sure s/he just implanted him/herself there on the right side! Don't forget they're really tiny and haven't filled up the uterus yet. If it were ectopic you will likely know, and will have severe pain and bleeding. Try not to worry.

I had pains the first time around at between about 4 and 6 weeks. Was sure my period was going to come on any moment. But, as the others have said, it's almost certainly just stretching pains. Get it checked out if you have any bleeding or it becomes really painful though.

Best of luck!
