I don't really know how to explain this, I'm due 24th September but I just feel like he is coming in the last week of August. I have no reason to feel like this, it's not good/bad timing either way. I just really really feel he is going to be early.

Anyone else feel like that?

Yes me! I thought she would be early as it's my third and had braxton hicks all the way through and did a physical job up until 35 weeks. I'm now 4 days overdue :(

MikeLitorisRings · 01/08/2012 21:06

Yep.

I was certain dc3 would be early. Dc 1&2 were born pretty much on edd so I was sure I wouldn't go over.

She ended up being 13 days late.

JemimaPuddle · 01/08/2012 21:08

I did, both times I had the feeling you describe but it was wrong!

First DD was 9 days overdue second DD was 12 days over and I was induced!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 01/08/2012 21:13

Haha, maybe it just means he is going to be late then!!

Yes absolutely - I was convinced I would be early with twins - not just for the obvious reasons, (sister had hers at 33 wks) but had strong Braxton Hicks from 24 weeks, contractions on and off from 34 weeks, cervix effaced from 36 wks, midwives telling me not to stray too far from home etc but nothing budged.

Was told by docs I would be allowed to go to 41 wks, (really 41wks?) - finally chose to be induced at 39wks, (I'd had enough) - having spent the entire pregnancy convinced I wouldn't get to term.

I guess you never really know when they're going to choose to arrive whether it's twins or a single,Confused

Hope it all goes well,Smile

Yes and no! Was convinced with DC1 I would be late but was 11 days early. With dc2 was convinced I would be early - lots of niggles etc and was early but only because I had a uti and waters broke so was induced at 39+3. With dc3 I was one day over but had no expectation. This time I am praying to be early again. My last was 9lb 1 so am worried there will be an increase!

PogoBob · 01/08/2012 22:38

I had this with DD, really convinced she was going to be a week early but she ended up being a full fortnight late!!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 01/08/2012 23:12

It's conclusive, if you feel like the baby is going to early, it comes late! I have no niggles/pains or anything to make me think this though, just a feeling. Better get used to the idea of being induced instead I think Grin

I had this vague feeling that DS could be early - I'd seen on other antenatal threads that at least one baby tended to come very early, and I wondered if that could happen to me. Then I thought no more of it...

DS arrived at 31+5!

herethereandeverywhere · 01/08/2012 23:49

Yes. I was certain DD would be early. Due date was beginning of October but all my family's birthdays are at the end of the month, plus I was really, really big from really early on.

Wrong! I ended up being induced for dates and she was born at 40+13!

seabuckthorn · 02/08/2012 08:15

I was utterly convinced DS1 would be late because all I was told was first babies are late..he was born after a 3 day labour on his due date.
Was also utterly convinced DS2 was going to be early and he was born 4 days early!
I think this one will be one day late but tbh I have no strong feelings this time.

NellyBluth · 02/08/2012 08:19

I was sure DD would be early as we moved house at 33w and I spent a month and a half sleeping on an air mattress while we waited for our furniture to arrive. I was certain that she would turn up while the house was a state and we only had half our furniture! I went into labour 6 days after her due date though (and after all the furniture had arrived, good girl.)

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 02/08/2012 08:22

I think we are often convinced babies will be early because we want them to be. Both mine have been early, so I'm convinced this one will be 2 weeks late!

Spice17 · 02/08/2012 10:53

DH keeps saying he thinks ours is coming early (because he thinks I'm really big at 7 months) and I want her to, not by much though - so I'm caught by suprise and don't have the horrible wait over my due date but I have a definite feeling I'll end up being induced at 42 weeks.

IHaveAFeatureWallAndILikeIt · 02/08/2012 11:00

SIL and I had due dates 2 days apart, she was convinced hers would arrive early and I was convinced mine would be late. In the end I was 39+4 and she was 42 weeks!

IHaveAFeatureWallAndILikeIt · 02/08/2012 11:01

I had a really big high bump that never dropped, hers was engaged and dropped really early!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 02/08/2012 21:15

I realy am not ready for hi to come early, it's definitely better for me if he stays out - although I would quite like the sickness to end! Maybe it's just wishful thinking and I'm kidding myself?

I have been totally convinced all along that bean will arrive early - really hoping I'm wrong as supposed to be having an ELCS at 39 weeks and don't want it to become an emergency Confused
