Hello!

I'm a regular on various other topics, NC'd as it is very early days, but it would appear I am 4 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child [oo eck]

Thought I'd say hello, just skim read down the thread titles and it was like a brain overload ha.

It's 9 years since I was last pregnant. I imagine all sorts has changed?

My DP (not the dad of my DC1) is very wet behind the ears, mid 30's and no children so he is still a bit like this Shock and hyperventilating whilst also asking lots of, what seem obvious to me, questions.

So, there's a bit of a learning curve ahead, I have to re learn EVERYTHING and I'm still in a bit of a daze and it doesn't quite seem real.

It is early days so I am trying to be calm and sensible but there is this bubble of excitement waiting to burst inside!

I've lots of questions, I'll be boring you all with them in the next few days/weeks/months.

So, April 2013! So far away, but so much to do/sort out!

Look forward to chatting to you all.

Smile

Hello! And congratulations...

I've just got a BFP a couple of hours ago! Have a 2yo already. Still can't quite believe it. It's my birthday today too, so a bloody great birthday present :)

MildredH · 01/08/2012 00:03

Congratulations both of you! Fab news xx

CouldItBeTrue · 01/08/2012 00:07

Ah, congratulations sunny!

What a fab present Grin

I didn't use online forums etc when I was pg with my DC1. It is fab to be able to speak to somebody else in the same boat!

(I will stop being secret squirrely and come out in my usual nick name I promise! Not that most people will 'know' me, I'm not deluded, just eager to shout it from the roof tops)

So, you're a bit more up on all the recent advice then if you have a 2 yo so I shall put your name into my MN radar and pester keep an eye out for you.

Have you worked out your due date? I'm coming as the 8th April, but I have to be an elective section (medical reasons) so will be 1-2 weeks before this date.

I just watched that Midwives program on BBC and ended up blubbing like a loon!

Just realised the time, I need my sleep. Thanks for replying, I'll be back tomorrow to pour over every possible nugget of info I could possibly need!

thanks Mildred :)

Did another test this morn half expecting it to be negative, but a very definite cross there still :)

Not sure of due date - how do you work it out? First day of last period was 1st July.

Hmmm I feel like I've forgotten everything in the last 2 years haha! Hopefully it'll come back to me - I'm sure I'm getting heartburn already! It's all the little niggles like that I think u (choose to) forget about pregnancy...

It's starting to sink in now, yay!!!

Scouseandproud · 01/08/2012 08:14

Congratulations to the both of you!!

40 weeks from first day of last period will give you your estimated due date.

What a great birthday present!

I'm due April 6th and struggling a bit with nausea, breezed through this with DD so I guess this is payback Sad

rogersmellyonthetelly · 01/08/2012 08:55

Nothing much has changed since I was pregnant with ds years ago, labour still hurts like a bugger, morning sickness is still shitty, piles are still painful, but the list of what you can't eat/do has unfortunately got quite a bit longer/sillier. Oh, and the pregnancy police are still just as annoying as they ever were

CouldItBeTrue · 01/08/2012 11:44

Ah roger, the joys eh! Welcome back to a whole new world of being judged? Grin

I'm sure I can cope.

sunny - I am so aware of my tummy and I know that my little embryo is tucked away deep down and away from my tummy, it's silly but I can't help it!

I went onto Babycentre and got a due date calculator - I think there is one on Mumsnet too. The first date of my last period was 2nd July, so safe to say you will be due 7th April Grin

No nausea yet....with DC1 I was so bloody ill pretty much from day 1 until about 18 weeks, I actually lost 2 stone. I also had Obstetric Cholestasis (sp?) and itched like a bugger day and night Sad SO I reckon I am due a breezy pregnancy with minimum symptoms this time round? (deluded? hopeful?)

The best thing so far is I haven't yet gone 'off' tea or coffee...I am clinging to this small mercy, as last time I had the horrible metallic taste in my mouth and couldn't bear any hot drinks.

So looking forward to finding out what's on the 'banned food' list...!

I also am on anti-depressants at the moment and need to speak to my Dr as the literature I have read suggest no major effects in the first and second trimester but heightened risk of defects/withdrawal for the baby in the third trimester. Shock

So far immediate family know but DC1 doesn't (the cat would be out of the bag if they did, every person would know before I had a chance to say 'don't tell anyone' Grin )

I'm off shopping, DC1 goes on hol with my parents on Saturday for 2 weeks so I get to have a bit of downtime and get my head together!

Have a good day everyone!

Lots of similarities here..... Two bfps, second DC, estimated due date 8th April, very high chance of C-Section again.
What I can't believe is that I started to get heartburn the day I took the test! But I know it's worth it.

CouldItBeTrue · 01/08/2012 22:43

I think we will have to start an April 2013 thread won't we. There are 3 of us so far!

Congratulations MumofWombat Thanks.

Last time (as I said) I had awful 24 hour sickness til 18 weeks so this time (ha ha ha, clutching at straws) I am hoping for an easier ride.

Last time I didn't get heartburn once.....that's all I'm saying! prays to the god of Gaviscon that I don't get it too bad if at all

So, if there isn't one already (I will go and check), I will go and start an April 2013 thread as I've lots of questions to ask and I'm sure we can share info and tips and mop each other's brow should the need arise! Smile
