Hi, just thought I'd say hello. I've just registered on this site and so far have found loads of helpful info.
I found out I was pg just after Christmas which was fantastic as I had just started having tests to see if there was a reason hb and I hadn't got there yet!
So far I have found a few things quite frustrating! Firstly, I have moved area and have been told by doctor that although I should have had a 12 week scan where I used to live, but missed it due to moving, this new area is different and they dont scan till 20 weeks. This seems an awful long time to wait. I also am waiting to hear from my new midwife and trying to find rented accomodation in my new area which takes babies and cats! The other thing that I find really wierd is that most high street maternity wear ranges only go up to a size 18! I read somewhere that the average size for women in UK is 16-18. I am a tad above that naturally and now that my bump is growing, normal sized anything is a distant memory! I have found a few bits on the internet but I thinks its really bad that the high street doesn't cater for the plus size mum to be! Anyway, that's my moans over with. I'd love to hear of anyone else's experiences with moving, clothing and pregnancy in general. Thanks for reading! :)

Welcome to Mumsnet Mandaz and congrats on the pregnancy. You might want to check in the antenatal threads - there's one for each month (not sure when you're due) where you can meet ladies at the same stage. Know what you mean about the scan, I'm also in an area where you have to wait until 20 wks. Just had mine last week and it was wonderful, and reassuring.

Good luck with your pregnancy

Hi Mandaz, second the welcome to mumsnet. Watch out these websites can get addictive when you're preg. I was glued to Bounty all through the last preg. The website was better than the useless giftpacks! Anyway, good luck with the preg and the new move, hope everything works out for you.

Thanks, I will definately check out the antenatal threads. It took ages for me to get my Bounty pack! I tried loads of shops and only just got one - it was the last one left. The washing powder samples were good and the Sanex. I didn't realise theres a seperate pack for Emmas Diary though, will have to try and find my copy!
