I've been on a real long walk and now I've had s couple of strong uncomfortable contractions but only about 3 in an hour? If this progresses to more often but not enuf for hospital should I still go for the sweep?

If the hospital isn't far from you and you're planning to give birth there anyway, I'd say go in and see what they say. Otherwise maybe give them a ring and ask?

Fingers crossed it's all happening though. Exciting! :)

I'd go anyway - it'll do no harm to see your midwife.

Good luck by the way. Grin

CountryKitty · 31/07/2012 13:51

Def go for your sweep. When I went for one with DD1 I was found to be 3cm dilated. Hadn't felt a thing. Can only help progress things. Goodluck!

Nope nothing again! This baby is so stubborn ! I really thought with it being ny third she would come easily! So this midwife better b able to do this sweep today !

I had a sweep when I got to the hospital - the mw checked to see how dilated I was (3 cm) and said she'd done a sweep while she was at it to help things along. It will only work anyway if your cervix is favourable, so your cervix is favourable, so it's worth a go. Good luck!

Cheekychops84 · 31/07/2012 14:03

I dnt no if it's favourable ? I dnt no anything haven't seen her for 2 weeks!

Don't be scared, I hope it's all underway but if it isn't it won't be long.

OddBoots · 31/07/2012 16:29

Thinking of you and hoping you soon have your baby in your arms.

Cheekychops84 · 31/07/2012 17:46

Well an update views if you will .......... Sweep didn't hurt at all in fact didn't really feel anything? Y she was uh hum poking around she asked "are you sure at ur 36 week growth scan they said the head was down" which yes it was? Now I'm worried she dnt even know which way up baby is?! But she said she managed to get in there and I'm 2cm dilated but cervix is slightly posterior? I've not had any blood only the slightest puniest puniest tinge ? It's now 6pm jus having mild cramps and back ache ?

2cm sounds great, is it your first child? If so then that is a very good sign indeed.

Maybe get yourself on another walk, eat something to get your strength up then have a relaxing bath and a sleep if you can.

Cheekychops84 · 31/07/2012 18:22

No my third ? But first sweep? But head is no longer engaged? So she in hospital tommorow (the midwife) and she will ring me with an induction date which is usually 12 days over but she going to give me 10 as baby feels a wee bit large !
