Im 43 and im experiencing pregnancy symptoms and ive just missed my period. I usually have a 25 day cycle but noticed that after the 28th day (29th day) that im probably pregnant. I havnt had a positive test yet so im a little nervous. In Sep 2009 me and my huuby lost our first child at 17 weeks. She was called Scarlett. The following year in June we lost another at 6 weeks and last year another one that didnt even progress. Has any one else been through a similar experience? Im getting slight cramping and can feel flutters in my lower tummy. I know its early days but we are hoping for a successful pregnancy and birth this time around. xx

Fingers crossed for you - I hope this little miracle comes through for you.

Sorry for your losses. I have not had the same experience, but I have had two miscarriages and two DC so I have my fingers crossed for you.

Have you taken a test yet?

Queenmarigold · 31/07/2012 12:33

Cramping at this stage is normal IME. All sorts of weird aches and pains happen throughout. Try to relax and good luck for taking the test!

Hi Chevchina so sorry for your losses. There used to be a thread on the miscarriage boards called Recurrent Buns with people on there who had also had more than one loss. I've had four all together but have just had a baby boy after being treated for something called high natural killer cells.

I think on the Conception boards there are threads where people are talking about being pregnant after miscarriages and all the ups and downs that go along with this. It can be truly harrowing! But I hope this is the one that works for you. But yes, the miscarriage boards and the conception boards might be a good place to look for support and virtual hand holding!

chevchina if you feel ready, there's an over-40s pregnancy thread on here that is really supportive - quite a few have had experience of mc and fertility probs
Best of luck

DF lost one at 40+ and had her DS just before her 43 birthday.

randomimposter · 02/08/2012 08:21

I know how hard it is :(

I had DS at 40, and started trying for DC2 at 41. I had 3 MMCs at around 12 weeks, and then all the tests which showed nothing amiss. I started talking DHEA and Agnus Castus and after 8 months, when I was just about to give up as 44th birthday was approaching (and during which time I had another 2 early losses at around 6 weeks) I got a BFP in January, and am now 31 weeks with DS2. I had low risk nuchal and all has been going well, I'm under consultant care which has meant extra scans and reassurance which has been really helpful.

So it is possible. I'm sorry for your losses and hope you find the strength to try again and you get the successful outcome you are after. There is a very supportive 40+ TTC thread in Conception if you feel you want support and advice on the way.
