Just wanted to know if anyone else gets this? I have MS (multiple sclerosis) and get this from time to time. I'm going through a phase of having it at the moment but as I'm now pregnant I'm not sure if it's pregnancy related or MS related xx

Do you have a Neurology nurse or physio to contact for advice? You can get cramp a lot when pregnant, but they are best placed to advise you.

I'm going to contact either the MS nurse or neurologist next week if it's still happening. It's definitely spasms rather than cramps.

Think it's probably the MS as my pain has increased recently as well. But I didn't want to automatically blame the MS when it might be a perfectly normal pregnancy thing iyswim? xx

No, I know what you mean.
Can you get a physio appointment? They may be able to advise you on positions to help inhibit the spasms, especially while you sleep or rest. ( I am a physio)
Again, aches and pains are very common in pregnancy, but is this more particularly ms type pain?
I think it would be reasonable to contact the ms nurse sooner rather than later as you seem to have a couple of issues going on. Also I am sure there is information on the MS Society about MS and pregnancy that may help.

Hope everything else with your pregnancy is going well.

It's defo my MS pain. Had to come off all my meds when I found out I was pregnant. I also use a TENS machine for my pain. Haven't had to use it at all for a few weeks now. It's been great as its the first time I've been pain free for years. Just put this down to the fact that MS tends to settle down in pregnancy. But the fact that the pain has started up again and I'm getting the spasms is a bit worrying so think you're right - probably time to ring someone.

I've never really mentioned the spasms to anyone. I tend to go through phases of having them and can then go for months without any. Defo worth a mention as well though.

Pregnancy-wise everything is fine. I'm 23+3 and still getting morning sickness but had it all the way through the pregnancy with DS so not expecting it to go anytime soon! Didn't get ill with the MS til after I had DS so this is a bit of unknown territory xx

It's so difficult when you have to come off medication for a pregnancy. If I can I'll look for more information you.x
