Toxoplasmosis from fox poo?

I had to clean fox poo from my hall way yesterday after stepping in it. I totally forgot about toxoplasmosis. Is fox poo dangerous?

Anyone help? I'm pretty sure it was fox poo as it was right outside the front door and I don't think a cat would poo there? I've never owned a cat but they usually poo in soil I think.
Anyone have any info or reassurance please?

Assuming you washed yourself thoroughly afterwards? And didn't eat any? It's mostly cat poo that you need to be careful of. Call your MW if you're concerned.

I think most people have had previous infection from Toxoplasmosis so it's not an issue for most.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I didn't eat any but am worried about minute traces left under fingernails or something!

My dog rolled in fox poo yesterday. I didn't realise he had done it til I'd given him many strokes & cuddles. Opphs got it all over myself. Hope I didnt bite my nails!! :-/

I'm 30 weeks now and am trying not to worry about it!

Well I've never owned any pets and have never been around any so am worried. I called my gp and she said I don't need to worry but my gp is rubbish.
Im also assuming it was fox poo but can't be 100% sure as it was raining yesterday so it was very soggy poo!

It is all about risk......if you have been exposed to a little bit of fox poo on one occasion and you didn't tuck into a fox poo sandwhich, washed your hands etc. I think you should be grand.

Even if it was cat poo - it is again highly unlikely you are going to catch anything from one exposure.

Thanks Squealy. I'm just being a typical paranoid pregnant woman!
I've googled like a loon and can't find anything linking fix poo and spreading toxoplasmosis so hopefully all will be well.

No worries exexe. I have had some pregnancy paranoia myself so understand where you are coming from Smile.

The GP can do a blood test to rule it out if you're worried

@Rainydayinlondon you're about 12 years late on this thread 😅

🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder why it popped ( or was that pooped) up?
Not even sure why I clicked on it tbh ( boredom probably) 😂
