I've been recommended to start drinking rasp leaf tea, im coming up to 35 weeks now!

I was told it takes a while to build up, you start off with a cup a day and up the dose gradually as the weeks go on! Is this right?

What are your experiences/, are you taking it and when did you start?

I started with a cup each day from 32 weeks, increasing by 1 cup a week until 37 weeks when I drank as much as I could stand :)

I only took 5 hours to get from first contraction to 10cm so for me I feel it definitely made my contractions more effective. Just remember that it's not meant to make labour start, it will help you once it does begin though!

Thank you rockchick, good I don't want to go into labour just yet as you said I've heard it can help when you do! Here's hoping for a short first/second phase!

I drank about 2-3 cups a day from 35 weeks onwards and it didnt help me at all. I went into labour at 41+3 weeks and DD was born over 30 hours later (including an induction attempt to speed things up) and a traumatic delivery. You never know with these things, if you take it and you have a good labour then you can easily attribute it to Raspberry leaf tea (in part) but then your labour may have been good anyway without it. My view is just take it as it doesn't hurt (once you get used to the revolting taste) and anything that might be of benefit is worth a go! Just wish it had worked for me!

you can take tablets rather than tea if you prefer (or dont like the tea)

I drank tonnes of the stuff, went 13 days over and ended up with emcs. Not sure if I am going to bother with it this time round, it's not very nice tasting.
