Stabbing chest pains?

I have the feeling that this is a stupid question but I'm wondering whether this can wait until tomorrow. For the past couple of days I've had on-off stabbing pains under my upper left ribs. They only last a minute or so but during that time I can't take a full breath. I'm 28 weeks pg. Has anyone else had this? I'm thinking it's either general stretching or related to some major surgery I had in the same area last year. Definitely not heartburn.

No you should get it checked out today to rule out a blood clot.

Call your midwife.

That's what I would have told anyone else asking too. I was really trying to avoid a late night tonight. Thanks for giving me a kick!

Senior midwife on delivery suite said not to worry about it so no late night for me, thank goodness! I'll bring it up when I see my consultant in a couple of weeks.

Glad to hear it was OK. Could be LO aiming particularly kicky arms/legs under your ribs? I'm 30 weeks and mine is really going for it with what I am assuming is a stray leg a lot at the moment.

Ok, so after more pain yesterday I spent the night in delivery suite having every test ever devised by needle-happy doctors, causing ECG machines and O2 monitors to malfunction and being told that 300m to the x-ray department was 'a long walk'. Result: finally discharged at 5am with a box of Canesten Hmm
