I'm 40+9 with baby 4. I've delivered by 41w before, never been this over! Been coping ok so far, but today I've lost the will to keep going.

I think I've tried nearly all of the natural ways to bring labour on but I'm exhausting myself.

My induction is booked for Wednesday... I obviously want what is safest & best for baby but I'm dreading going in to hospital and being separated from my DCs.

Any tips on how to cope over the next few days?

I'm being induced with DC1 in 3 wks so no advice really but didn't want to leave unanswered.

Prob really hard if you're tired but can you prep DCs about whats going to happen: x is going to look after you whilst mummy is in hospital. When your little bro/sis arrives they'll be really small. Depending on how old they are you could task them with making a welcome card or something to keep em busy for an hour or give them little pretend baby tasks so they feel included.

Hope all goes well!

Oh Hun it's awful isn't it! Were u overdue with the others? You would kinda think number 4 would b here by now wouldn't you ?! I'm only 2 days over and feeling like no end in sight dnt see my midwife until Tuesday kind of feel abandoned so to speak :(( how long does an induction take roughly? And what time are u booked in for?

SoozyWoozy · 29/07/2012 17:33

DD1 born at 41w after 2 sweeps
DD2 born at 38w
DD3 born at 41w after several sweeps & reflexology
DC4 - now 40+9, had 3 sweeps / reflexology / osteopath / everything else.

I have to ring the labour ward at 8am on Wednesday. No idea how long the induction will take, I suppose it depends on how ready I am and how well my body responds to it. I'm seeing my MW for a 3rd sweep tomorrow... also going to ring reflexologist to see if she can fit me in again and also going to try some homeopathy.

sigh I'm feeling so low today :(

I'm not surprised u are feeling down ! I'm worried about leaving my dd's too but I know next time I see them they will have their baby sister to cuddle ! If they offer me an induction I will take one asap I dnt particularly want one but Ive really had enough I'm miserable too was also in tears last week as was sure she would b here by now! Hold in there won't b long now ! Have u had any twinges at all?

DC1 born at 40+10 a few hours after my 5th sweep, I just kept packing in the sweeps to try to kick start the labour. With my 5th sweep I lost my plug immediately and it was game on. Good luck x

Thank you for the support.

I've done everything I can and more. Just got to prepare for induction now, I think. Going to repack hospital bag tomorrow and get DH to put our dining room back together... take down the pool etc :(

Oh dear :( I'm sure all will b well ! Try to keep busy! I have my first ever sweep tommorow feeling nervous ! U never know u still have time before 2noro! I went into labour the night before I was due for an induction with my first at 40+8

raininginbaltimore · 30/07/2012 19:27

Oh Soozy, my biggest worry about home birth is that I will have to be induced and miss out on my pool and have to go to hospital.

I know a few people that go into labour naturally just before the induction!
