Skin under boobs feels like it's going to tear apart

Anyone else have this feeling? I'm 26 weeks and my uterus is obviously getting higher and I'm expanding like you wouldn't believe. The skin on my tummy has coped so far (obviously used to a bit of expansion every now and then) but the skin higher up, under my boobs, around the bottom of my ribs feels so sore and like it's going to tear apart. I'm expecting stretch marks imminently.

Has anyone else had this sensation? This is my first pregnancy and the first time my body has expanded in this area. Painful!

Could it be your tummy muscles separating? If lying down, then pull up to sitting does your tummy go up in a point? If do its your tummy muscles splitting , bloody hurts too

Is there any soreness on the surface of the skin? Any redness, itching?

Yes the skin feels sore but doesn't look it at all. No itching. Just feels very tight.

Definitely feels like it's the skin pulling rather than muscular pain. Although I guess the muscles are also getting a pasting.

Hiya May, yes, as if you weren't going through enough bonus changes, your rib cage flairs to accommodate baby and lungs and unfortunately never quite pings back into place (if you're like me).

Just a warning, you'll find breathing in inconvenience if you eat a massive meal and will actually see your rib indentation so stick to small meals.

Yes! Like someoneis filleting your ribs from the muscles above. It was horrendous. Think it stopped at about 7.5 m for me. Bad news- they never quite go back again making pre preggers dresses hard to wear :(

BUT! I have almost no stretch marks :)

Had the same issue, skin very painful, like bruised but no marks whatsoever, have been using homeopathy, rhus toxycodendron, it worked.
