Chicken Pox

Talk me down!!

On Wednesday DS was outside playing with all the kids in the street, and I was out on and off helping them erect tents and fill water pistols etc. Yesterday they all came down with Chicken Pox. DS has had it. I've had it. DH has had it. Everything I've read on the NHS site has confirmed that the risk is only if I haven't had the pox but after the mmc last year, I'm still stressed about it!

You've no reason to worry. If you've had the pox you will be immune. I just had blood tests to find out whether I had immunity since I only had a very mild dose as a child. My test results showed I still had immunity. No risk or danger to the baby whatsoever.

I know it's easier said, but don't worry!

The important thing is you've had it. DD1 had it while I was preg with DD2 and I was told there was nothing to worry about.

I distinctly remember getting it when I was about 7 or 8 and my grandmother telling my mum to be thankful I got it now rather than catch it while "expecting".

You have nothing to worry about, you will be immune so there will be no chance of getting it.

My mum can't remember if I have had chicken pox, I remember having itchy spots but it could have been measles. If your son had chicken pox you will have cought it then if the childhood diagnisis was wrong.
