Hello,

I posted this in antenatal screening but didn't get much response so hoping someone here might help.....

My beta hcg level is 8.10 MOM - ie 8 times higher than average.

PAPP-A and NT both fine. Downs risk negative (1 in 700).

Has anyone else had a high hcg level, and what was the advice or outcome please?

Hospital says they used to do extra tests but now don't worry about hcg in isolation, due to a new policy. However, I have read that it puts me at risk for a low birth weight baby, or placental insufficiency.

I wonder if anyone else might have had different advice from their hospital?

I would like my hospital to do the extra tests as a precaution. Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks!
