Lifting heavy objects

Is it ok to do this? I just lifted the washing basket crammed high full of heavy laundry off the floor onto the bed (DH usually sorts it all out - lucky me!) - was heavier than I expected and now my back is aching. Is this just because of the whole relaxin thing causing muscles and ligaments to ache more? It cant have torn the placenta or anything or harmed the baby can it? I'm 26 weeks by the way.

yes, it's just the ligaments and all that. I very much doubt you can have "torn" the placenta or in any way harmed the baby with a washing basket.

The only reason they warn against lifting stuff whilst pregnant is because you're more likely to injure yourself for the reasons you've mentioned. Not because you'll do any harm to your baby.

This is what I thought - I had a moment of hormonal madness (and was probably trying to find a very good excuse never to do any housework again.)

Thanks for indulging me ladies Wink
