Really painful finger joints?! Swollen, ok, but painful?!

My hands have gone in for the big swell this week, which is ok, I managed to get my rings off (thanks to the help of some of you!) but the last two days my fingers have started to really hurt at the joints, they feel really bruised and stiff. Has anybody else got this? Is it normal?

I there - I 38 + 4 and i've had this all week. its horrid. Thinks its called Odema but look at pre eclampsia so you know when to be concerned about eh swelling. my fingers and toes are white and typing and using scissors doesn't feel easy. DH has given me the odd foot and hand massage which is marvellous (even though he has no massage skills what so ever!) yesterday my feet hurt and even lying in bed my hands / wrists feel v uncomfortable.

I've been suffering from this too. It was originally just on my wedding ring finger (after I took my rings off) but now it's affecting all of my fingers. I did wonder if it was due to the heat as my toes are also looking a little chubby Grin. I'm being monitored for pre-eclampsia this time around anyway (had it with DD1) and am regularly testing my urine for protein but am negative so far.

I've had Carpal Tunnel for about 6/7 weeks, I'm 37+6. My wrists are agony, especially at night. Dr has said I just have to wait for the baby to arrive. Gah!!

I know the feeling well. 32+4 with twins and fluid retention has been getting worse daily over past few weeks. Feet, ankles and lower legs are huge. Can only get sandals on. Fingers have been getting swollen too and now feel really stiff and sore, mainly the joints that I'm feeling it in too. I've lost the strength in them to open screwtop bottles easily! Rings haven't been on for about a week.

Blood pressure and urine tests are constantly okay so not pre-eclampsia, just fluid retention :)

Me too. Knuckles really sore. Hope it will disappear instantly when baby arrives or I'm going to really struggle with poppers! 39+1
