At 22 weeks, I'm trying to make myself bloom by

A) being grateful i no longer feel sick 24/7

B) appreciating the fact that i can still put socks on without going puce (do have to hold my breath though!)

Apparently, our bodies are working at the same rate sitting still as a not-pregnant person's is when they walk briskly up hill!

Wheresmycheesecake · 26/07/2012 20:28

I suffer from really bad heart burn and acid reflux so pretty much feel sick a lot still!

I tried a little walking as thought exercise would help... Did not take into account this heat and looked like I'd swam home rather than id took a little stroll around the block! Blush

I have a friend who is 34weeks and she looks radiant! Angry

My skin is a spotty now as before 15 years and counting Angry

Yoghurt after dinner and milk at bedtime are keeping my indigestion under control... For now...

Wheresmycheesecake · 26/07/2012 21:46

Ooh will have to try yoghurt! milk tends to make it worse Confused

I'm finding bran flakes with banana/raisins/dried apricot for breakfast very helpful at the moment Wink

I'm 21 weeks and not blooming at all. My skin is truly awful, so many spots and none of them are healing. It takes me ages to cover them all up in the morning.

Also my skin is way more sensitive now, things that used to be fine are bringing me out in angry eczema. Like fake tan. I'm pasty, spotty and itchy, and huge. If I moan at DH he says "you'll be back to normal soon." No, you are supposed to say "you look lovely dear".

Purple I keep a keg of gaviscon next to the bed now. I'm pretty sure 1 gulp is 20mls!!

woopsidaisy · 27/07/2012 07:49

Well, everyone keeps telling me that I am "blooming", that my skin is amazing, and I'm "all bump".
TBF, I always have good skin, and it was a bit crap around the middle of pregnancy, is back to normal now.
I have put on 4.5 stone! You read that right. But everyone keeps saying I'm all bump!
I have nice friends! Grin

littlemisssunshine3 · 27/07/2012 08:48

My next door neighbour said I looked really well yesterday. I think it was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me :) To be fair last time she saw me I had just been sick and had not had a poo for a week so any improvement would have been noticed by even the blindest of people.

I would also like to know when I will start to bloom...Is it a myth?

My other half is always the first to tell me I look lovely when I have a melt down and feel so bloated and fat that I do not want to leave the house. I think that he tells me this in the hope that I will not cry/ get angry/ cry some more/ throw something at him for getting me knocked up( because everything is his fault at the moment)/ continue crying.

I would also like to know when I will start to bloom...Is it a myth? I am 20 weeks.

kalidasa · 27/07/2012 08:49

I am 21 weeks and still throwing up every single day (hyperemesis). In fact, I reckon the next vomit is due in about five minutes . . . Blooming my foot. Though having said that, my skin is quite good. I feel self-conscious about my bump but DP really likes it and keeps saying I look beautiful!

TheToadLessTravelled · 27/07/2012 09:58

I was told I bloomed in pregnancy. Little did they know my 'bloom' was due to Mac coral blush and illuminating powder! Actually I looked quite ghostly before the face paint went on

Lovelylace · 27/07/2012 10:03

well I am only 10 weeks and never felt as ugly in my life, spotty as a teenager, putting on loads of weight round my thighs and arse, have developed the first signs of cellulite I have EVER had, plus being constipated, bloated and knackered...I await my blooming period with excitement, if it EVER will appear..LOL

Spuddybean · 27/07/2012 10:18

WARNING- show off alert!

Well i'm starting to wonder if i am pregnant at all. I feel fabulous. Never better. I am 35+2 and still sleeping thru the night 10-7, no need for pillow propping or wee breaks.

I have put on 3 stone (only in the front - a little on the arse and thighs) and baby wriggles lots, but not had; indigestion, back ache, mood swings, constipation, bad skin or anything like that. DP and i are still at it about 3 times a week too (altho less energetically). I felt so good i had a naked photo shoot on weds!

Sorry everyone Wink . I keep coming on the pregnancy forum and see all these posts and i just think - am i really pregnant. All i hear is bad things and i don't feel any.

The first 12 weeks on the other hand were fucking horrendous, nausea, migraine, fatigue etc - so i haven't had i completely gorgeous time...honest!

panicnotanymore · 27/07/2012 11:37

I'm right at the beginning, only two months in, and definitely blooming. My hair is shiny, my skin is lovely, and I'm sort of softly rounded which is a massive improvement on my usual rather scrawny look. I have lost count of the number of people who have told me I look 'really well'. In fact one friend said it so many times the other day it began to sound a bit like 'you normally look incredibly shit, and I am so stunned that you don't today I can't stop saying you look well'!!!

However, given I've had an easy start I suspect I will turn into a huge bloated spotty greasy whale very soon, and you can all have the last laugh Grin

cakeladyc · 27/07/2012 11:59

I'm 33 weeks today and finally i think i look pretty good! My skin is great, hair is looking good for once.
But its taken this long and i do have really bad indegestion and acid reflux, achey hips etc etc!!

Wheresmycheesecake · 27/07/2012 12:53

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one wondering when the marvels of blooming will begin!!

purple I'll have I give that a go! Anything to stop me drinking gavascon by the bottle Blush

seymore I no that feeling! The spots just keep on coming, they've travelled to my back they like me so much!! I finally went to the doctors and they gave me some cream after sobbing that I looked like a pizza to my OH who thought it was appropriate to laugh a lot when i said this Angry

woopsidaisy I do not envy your 4.5 stone! Although I do envy that your all bump!! I've put on 2.5 so far but feels like most of it is on my arse and thighs... Envy

littlemiss I think it must be a myth! Unless I'm going to bloom just before birth I highly doubt I will now!
P.s please teach my OH how to respond web I have a melt down he tends to look at me and say "your pregnant course your going to feel fat" Envy not the response I need as you can imagine!!

kalidasa hyperemesis will that lasts all of your pregnancy?? Up to about 20 weeks I was being sick all day & smells set me off (I work in an elderly home so you can imagine what smells there is on a daily basis Sad)

thetoadlesstravelled I may have to try this as my regular foundation does not give me the "wake up" look it advertises, more of a "I've just woke up" look Envy

lovelylace I'll tell you what my bitch of a lovely MIL told me when I was 10 weeks & feeling the effects... "your going to get fatter and spottier, you might even pee yourself, this is the best you'll look make the most of it" fair to say this didn't cheer me up!!

spuddybean I am very very very jealous!!! What is your secret?!

I would love to do one of those photo shoots but id be charged through the roof at how much air brushing they'd need to cover up my stretch marks!!

panicnotanymore
one friend said it so many times the other day it began to sound a bit like 'you normally look incredibly shit, and I am so stunned that you don't today I can't stop saying you look well'!!! hahaha Grin

Sounds like pregnancy suits you Smile enjoy it!

cakeladyc I'll be counting down the next 3 weeks hoping I feel as good when I hit 33weeks!! Not long left now and your heart burn etc will be replaced with a little baby!! Smile
