In the end I used to pat where her bum was and she'd go to sleep, that still sometimes works now and she's 1 :)

That's lovely, Dany!

I have found kicks more uncomfortable than painful, but had forgotten how odd they can be till yesterday - I nearly fell over when DD2 either did a star jump or some kind of karate move. She hasn't done that before! I was standing knee deep in a river with a really slippy bed, carrying a load of survey equipment and it totally caught me off guard - closest I've come to falling over in the water for a long time. She then spent the next hour exploring her new position and sticking her feet up under my ribs, until I had a firm word (probably that: she could just have moved back of her own accord I suppose!).

I only tend to find the punches in the fanjo/bladder painful, other movements are a bit weird but don't exactly hurt.... feet in the liver is a bit bleurrgh though!
