Painful hands (3rd tri)

I suspect I've developed carpal tunnel (I'm a PA so typing probably not helping) in both my hands.

Started off with just my left being bad, painful and stiff at night but manageable during the day. However this last week - last night specifically, in both hands the pins and needles over night and resulting pain was horrible. I'm now at work but my fingers go numb when I type (until I drop my hand down and I can feel the blood flowing back) and they both ache like hell.

I've taken some paracetamol and am off to Dr's tomorrow but has anyone had similar experience? what helped? I'm 30 weeks today.

No advice here sorry just wanted to say I hope you get it sorted

Oh yes, I'm 37 + 5 and had it for the last 6/7 weeks. It started like yours and now my wrists are agony!

Am sure this isn't what you want to hear and there isn't much you can do as far as I'm aware Sad

I do strap my wrists up at night (like a boxer does before putting the gloves on!) but I have resigned myself to waiting until the baby pops out and putting up with it until then.

I feel your pain Sad

Hey stinkyminkymoo - did you get your splints from the dr's? I got one from tesco but because of the heat it now feels too small!

No I didn't, in fact the dr did very little and sort of insinuated I'd have to put up with it until the baby came out Angry

My mum gave me some elasticated bandages she for from Germany as I found the neoprene ones weren't really right enough to help.

I'm not sure if it'll help but I go to prenatal yoga and one of the stretches my teacher gets us to do is to bend your hands as far as is comfortable, as if you were trying to touch the wrists with your fingertips. It gives you a really good and nice stretch :)
