Rhesus Neg? When is a bump a bump/ knock a knock?

If you are rhesus neg like me what advice have you been given with regards to knocks/bumps and receiving anti-D?

I've been told I'll need it if I have a bleed, after birth if baby is rhesus pos, at 28 weeks and if I get a knock/bump. It's the knock/bump I find unclear - how hard does it need to be before should contact midwife for anti-D because I'm sure I knock my bump in some way nearly every day (obviously not hard!)?

Have asked my midwife the question and she's very vague. Can anyone give me a clear concise answer to this? Thanks

Tbh if it's hard enough to bruise I would worry, otherwise not worry.
If you open a door and it brushes past your bump, no problem. If the wind catches the door and it whacks you, then I would worry. I'm -ve, pregnant with my 3rd dc and had loads of Knocks and bumps (very clumsy when the belly gets big) and only had 2 shots of anti d each pregnancy, both times after bleeding from below, as opposed to a bump.

I never got the comment about bumping. As I am completely accident prone, and managed to fall over twice when going into the room to get the result, I am a little surprised about that one.

I got the anti-d after I had my daughter as that was the only time I bled. Like Roger, I think if its a bruise not to worry. We all get a little accident prone as we get bigger, and as I can fall over air if it happens to be in my way and still didn't get a shot, I wouldn't worry.

she told me i it felt like it would bruise then to get it. she then used the doppler on me and that was really hard pressing down so im not too worried. Then the next day i was hit full wack with a soft ball (trade descriptions act.... they are NOT soft) luckily it only hit my top thigh so i didnt have to go in.

Yes lora they do press very hard with the Doppler - not sure it's quite necessary!
