How soon after BFP did you get symptoms?

I've done a lot of pg tests over last 12 days and got positives every time, but don't seem to have other symptoms. I'm 5-6 weeks pg. Is this normal? Is it a case of everyone being different? I'd love to hear if there are other people who had no symptoms for first few weeks. It would be reassuring Smile

Can't quite remember much ds is 7months but i'm sure there's going to be a couple of weeks before the hormones start flying. I've had 5 pregnancies and each one is very different, so don't worry, esp if all your tests are positive. Congratulations Grin

with my DD had sore boobs and nausea before I even got a BFP with DS i had nothing until about 8 weeks and then had slight nausea. As you say every pg is different . some women get no obvious symptoms.

Piffle · 06/03/2006 10:42

I was puking 10 x day 2 after my period was due with dd.
With ds I did not even know I was pregnant until 9 weeks.
It varies I think after 6 weeks is usual though.
And do not maon, you are lucky enjoy the lack of symptoms while you can :)

I have been lucky and have had no sickness or sore boobs with any of my 3 pregnancies. I don't actually remember feeling pregnant atall really untill I got a bump.

Tatties · 06/03/2006 10:42

I did a test (pos result) at around 5 wks and started feeling sick within a day or two - with hindsight though, I had been having other symptoms which I didn't realise were down to me being pregnant - weeing constantly, tender boobs, cramps, feeling irritable - I thought it was PMT and was wondering when my period would start!

TBH I think it varies from person to person though. AFAIK it's not common to get false positives so if you've had lots of positive tests then I think that's reliable. Is this your first pregnancy?

compo · 06/03/2006 10:43

I didn't start to feel sick until about 6 weeks so don't worry too much

leggymamba · 06/03/2006 10:44

I took tests as I was chucking up, however both times (being tight) I was over 6 weeks.

Keep your fingers crossed you don't get any symptoms, they're generally not very nice! Apart from the major symptom of a baby after 90 months. Good luck

leggymamba · 06/03/2006 10:45

Think that should have been 9 months....as far as I know I'm not an elephant!

HopingCat · 06/03/2006 10:50

I know I shouldn't be complaining about the lack of symptoms and I'd be lucky if I didn't have any, but this is my first pregnancy and I'm a bit unsure about it being real.

You will be for a while, I was, and desperatley waiting for the bump. And it takes ages to show!! It's so depressing!!

Tatties · 06/03/2006 10:53

Know how you feel HC - I didn't really believe I was pregnant with ds until I had my first scan at 13wks - I convinced myself that I could have been imagining all my symptoms! Good luck and congratulations Smile

puppy · 06/03/2006 10:58

With DS I had hardly any symptoms throughout the pregnancy, just missed af, heartburn and metallic taste , and a small tidy bump.

This time I have had lots of symptons if not all, currently 12weeks and the size of a house Grin but slightly over weight to begin with.

Congratulations Smile
