BFP but is it a dodgy test?

I had my period exactly 12 days ago and have been using ovulation tests to see when its best to try and concieve. I had a strong positive this afternoon, so we were preparing to have a fun filled couple of nights! Grin
However, my other half suggested i do a pregnancy test because he thought i 'looked' different, so to humour him i did, and BFP Shock
I did a pregnancy test before my last period too and it was negative, so i was totally shocked to get a BFP so early on!
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is it a dodgy test?
Its too early to tell if i'm pregnant, isnt it?
And, how am i still ovulating if i'm pregnant?

zoeymlucas i have been to my docs as i thought the same thing. But, my doctor phoned the Early Pregnancy Unit and they said i'm best to wait til i'm 5/6 weeks before they do a scan.
I wanted blood tests, as i had the same bleeding with my DS and they did tests then, however, the Early Pregnancy Unit said to wait a couple of weeks first.

I have been doing tests every day and the result is getting stronger, so i hope that is an indication the baby is still with us.

In my pregnancy with my DD I bled very heavily every day for the first 7 weeks. With this pregnancy I bled everyday from 3-7 weeks. It was actually the fact I was bleeding for so long that made me do a pg test. I'm currently 22 weeks with DD2 so it seems that for me bleeding is just a symptom of pregnancy!

I hope all goes well for you when you do get checked.

pickles and Itsmylastone thank you so much for telling me you bled too, makes it a little less stressful to know.
I actually bled with my 2 DCs before this little one, but never this early.

Has anyone had any experience of bleeding so early on and going on to have a successful pregnancy?
