Am 5.5 weeks pregnant and had sore breasts and metallic taste in my mouth - symptoms disappeared overnight last night but I have had no cramps or bleeding - am I right to be worried? or has anyone had this happen and gone on to hear a heartbeat and beyond?

Please don't worry - I had a bad bleed in my pregnancy and was told the time to be really worried is when you have BAD pain.

It's a horrible time in a way, early pregnancy. It seems like weeks until your first scan and you're probably not telling people.

At your stage I was obsessed with doing pg tests and thinking "what if, what if."

I'm sure your baby is just going to be a nice easy one and you'll sail through your pregnancy.

Thanks thekidsarealright I'm trying hard to not worry as there is no pain or bleeding but it just seems so weird that the symptoms virtually 'switched off' iykwim?! How far on are you? I think my head is preparing itself for the worst somehow.

My DS is 13 months Grin

I'm sure you'll be ok, you might have just had some symptoms around the time of implantation and things have died around now.

I had an early scan at 9 weeks because I was convinced my symptomless pregnancy was doomed - is that an option in a few weeks to put your mind at rest?

thekidsarealright · 22/07/2012 21:08

Terrible choice of words - meant things have died down around now....Blush

peterpansmum · 22/07/2012 21:22

Lol @ choice of words - might be losing the plot but haven't completely lost my sense of humour Grin

I'm scheduled for an early scan at 7 weeks as my DS2 died aged 2 three years ago Sad hence some of my intense fear and paranoia about this pregnancy feeling really different to my last two.

Totally understand the fear and paranoia. My DD was stillborn earlier this year and I am now 6 weeks pregnant again. Constant obsessive symptom watching and worrying is pretty much all I am doing at the moment. I think those of us who have lost DC just don't get the luxury of enjoying pregnancy because we have a terrible insight into what can and does go wrong. We can't ever have a happy ending but we can have a new positive direction. Hope you have a lovely healthy pregnancy.

Hiya Rainbow - sorry to hear about your DD -This is indeed a scary path to tread. I'm a few days behind you, but today feeling too scared to believe. I think I thought that once the symptoms that was reassuring and that they would stay. Enjoy and pregnancy will probs never work in the same sentence heh! Thank you for your kind wishes - I wish you the exact same Smile , just wishing i had a crystal ball tonight and a magic wand Sad

Yes a crystal ball and a magic wand are at the top of my wish list too!

thekidsarealright · 23/07/2012 06:14

So sorry to hear that, no wonder you're worried. Just count down the days to the scan and if you're worried at all, go straight to the maternity centre or ward near you. Let me know how your scan goes xx

Has it been confirmed? I had a bad bleed early on but it was ok? Sorry again xxx

peterpansmum · 23/07/2012 21:35

Cheers, Not felt up to going anywhere near my GP or EPU today for confirmation - spoke with nurse on the phone who was due to scan me next week and she told me what to look out for and offered to scan me later this week if I wanted xx
