My skin has never been wonderful since i was a teenager but since i've been in my 20s it has been gradually getting better, however, since becoming pregnant it has been awful - i look like i'm 14 years old again! It was fairly bad up until about 5 weeks, then got a bit better and since about 12 weeks has been gradually getting worse and worse (I had hoped it might start getting better after the 16 week mark as everyone told me that was the miraculous point at which everything would be lovely) but now, at 20 weeks its horrible. I've got spots on my neck,my chest and my back. I'm using tea tree cream and at MWs suggestion washing wish aqueous cream but nothing is helping. Has anyone found anything that helps that can be used in pregnancy? Thanks

My sympathy. Duac (benzoyl peroxide/clinamycin cream) is safe in pregnancy and has helped me - you will need a prescription. Only use it at night as it bleaches clothes.

Drinking absolutely loads of water helps too to flush out the excess hormones and constipation that contribute to the spots.

Zineryrt (on prescription and safe during pregnancy) worked for me. Took about 4 weeks but after that skin completely clear. Worth a trip to the dr rather than the midwife in my experience...!

I'm the same. I have been using the Freederm sensitive facewash and the gel. I'm not keen on the benzyl peroxide because I have ruined too many clothes and pillow cases with it.

Thanks all - saw dr this week and suggested zineryt - thanks madeuplovesong - he hadn't heard of it! But it seems to have started working already so I'm def feeling a little less hideous. Thanks.
