Anyone else had their appendix out fairly recently?

I know there have been a few threads about stitches/pains in bumps etc but my pain is quite sharp, like a stitch, only on the right of my bump, almost in line with my belly button (I'm 22+4). It mainly happens when I walk, but has ached at night in bed, and is eased if I hold it/press there as I walk.

I just wondered if its linked to the appendectomy I had in October. It was a straight forward keyhole surgery, all incision healed etc but it seems awfully coincidental that the pain is roughly where I had strange post-surgery niggles.

I do remember getting bump ache with my DD, but that seemed further into the pg and across the bottom of the whole bump, as if the ligaments were being stretched/pulled by the weight/bump. This is in one spot.

Anyone else had anything like this?

Erm.. I probably shouldn't mention this, but have you read this story??

If worried I would get it checked but Appendectomy is major surgery even when done by key hole. You are being cut through major stomach muscles which even you if you weren't pregnant would take a while to heal fully let alone having a baby stretching them at the same time ! It won't hurt to pop down to your GP just to check though, Good Luck

I had abdominal surgery last year (not appendix) and have been getting lots of pain there too. As it wasn't the same thing I'm guessing it's just everything stretching out, however as has been said major abdominal surgery like that is going to leave scar tissue that needs time to heal.

Thanks for your replies, although the pain is nowhere near the incisions (which are tiny BTW, although appreciate they are deep) and it was 9mths ago, so nearly 5mths before I fell pg and therefore seemed to have healed. I'm not that worried, just wondered if it was a coincidence and normal pg niggles, or anything to do with my insides being rearranged!!

I wasn't actually poorly with the appendicitus at the time, that had happened last January, but encapsulated, so treated with antibiotics - it continued to cause a few niggles & the appendectomy was to remove any future problems (the inflammation had caused some scar tissue, which was removed) so it wasn't such an urgent situation iyswim. Hopefully it'll settle down soon!!
