Anybody had a hb level (iron) that did not decrease?

Hi all, I am a bit confused and would be grateful for some opinions please:

I booked in with MW at about 8 weeks. Hb results back by the time I saw her next at 15 weeks - they were 11.4.

I've just had the routine 28 week bloods taken on Monday, phoned for results earlier today and was told the Hb was...11.4. Hmm.

I feel crap, don't take any supplements just normal good diet, eat meat less than half of the time, so I am a bit worried as to how the levels have not dropped at all during my pregnancy? Thought it just dropped even half a point due to dilution?

I did confirm the date of the blood test with the receptionist, which was correct. I was also told that no specific test had been done for 'iron' but a full blood count showed Hb of 11.4.

Any ideas?

I'm not too sure why you're worried about it not dropping - that sounds like a good thing: your body is dealing well with the increased demands of pregnancy!

Is it because it's exactly the same? Are you worried that they didn't re-do the test, or mixed up the test results? I don't know how likely that is, since I don't work in the NHS - but my gut feeling is that it's more likely to just be coincidence.

11.4 is a bit low though. Normal range (according to my blood results sheet) is 11.5 to 16.5, so you're just on the edge. Maybe you could take some pregnancy vitamins again for a while (I know you don't need them after 12 weeks, but it can only help)?
