Got a hot smoked salmon (cooked) vegetable salad thing from Sainsburys in the fridge. Is it okay to eat smoke fish in pregnancy?

What can the process of smoking do to cause harm? So not clued up!

Smoked salmon is fine to eat during pregnancy.

Although I think there are guidelines on how many portions a week you should have?

my midwife said cold (i.e. the slightly translucent smoked salmon) isn't a good idea, but if it's cooked or hot smoked it's fine, and i've been acting on that advice for 18 weeks now, if that helps..

Smoked salmon is fine. Hot smoked salmon is cooked as well as smoked, so it's doubly fine.

what AThing said.

Smoking and cooking both kill the parasites that can be found in raw salmon. So either smoked or cooked salmon are fine - smoked cooked is doubly fine.

Smoking process causes no harm to pregnancy, in fact the opposite!

Yes, you actually get *more

I've stuffed my face with it for most of my pregnancy - I also think it is fine. Hot or cold.
