Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and new at being pregnant!!

I am currently 6+2 and starting to freak out about having a ms/mmc/ectopic.

I think I am worrying because I don't have many pregnancy symptoms (sore boobs and back is about all) although I have been having period like cramps on and off every day since my missed period. I've also been getting ovulation type pain on my left side since my missed period. Yesterday it was quite uncomfortable. I read yesterday that cramping on the left side might not be a good sign. I've felt nothing on my right side.

Today the left hand side pain/ache hasn't been as bad, however having been to the loo twice I've noticed a brown mucus when I wipe so now I'm convinced that this might be the start of a mc. I know that brown blood isn't as bad as red but coupled with my lack of symptoms and feeling 'not pregnant' I'm starting to drive myself a bit nuts!! It also smells like my period is coming (tmi)!

Please tell me I'm not alone by getting completely carried away with my paranoia?! I didn't realise it would be so stressful being pregnant!!

Thanks for listening!

It's very common to be paranoid at first, especially with your first.

Aching, period type pains are usual in the early weeks as your uterus stretches in ways it has never had to before. I had brown spotting with DC2 at around 6 weeks, lasted a few days. I went to see my GP and was referred for an early scan, all was well. Brown spotting is very common as well and you're right is not usually a bad sign of impending mc as it indicates old blood, my MW said it's often associated with your missed period.

Plenty of women don't have any nausea or sickness so at your stage you might not expect anything other than sore boobs. With my first the sickness kicked in at about 7 weeks. Next week you may well be hankering after the days of 'no symptoms' again!

Make an appointment to see your GP. Hopefully an early scan will show that everything is fine.

Hello, didn't want to read and run. Although there's every likelihood that the brown mucus is nothing to worry about (a little bleed around six weeks is quite common - it's known as implantation bleeding, I think), I would ring your GP surgery this afternoon adn ask to speak to a doctor.

Explain what's happened and how far along you are: in my Doctor's it's standard practice to refer all bledding in early pregnancy to the Early Pregnancy Unit at the local hospital for a scan, to see what's giong on and check everything's ok.

If you call them today, they may be able tor efer you for a scan as early as tomorrow. If everything's ok, then it will be hugely reassuring. At 6 weeks plus, the sonographer will definitely be able to see a fetal pole, and may even see an early heartbeat.

Fingers crossed for you xx

I remember having the exact same worries as you. It's quite common to feel crampy in the early weeks and feel as if your period is on it's way. Apart from feeling crampy/trapped wind BlushI didn't really have any symptoms until about 7 weeks and then the nausea hit with a vengeance and didn't go until about 16 weeks. A good friend is a midwife and said that the pain with ectopic would become pretty unbearable and often accompanied by shoulder pain. I can't comment on the mucus as I didn't have it, but think the consensus is that ok if not bright red. From finding out until the 12wk scan feels like forever and hard not to stress, but I'm sure all is fine with your little bean! It does get less worrying and parts are even enjoyable Wink.

Thanks for the replies ladies, I feel sick now but think that's just through worrying!! Silly really as 6 weeks is nothing and what will be will be. I know it's not good to stress but don't know how not too.

If it continues or gets worse then I'll go to the doctors tomorrow. I am definitely worried about the pain/ache in my left side though.
