Hi Everyone,

I'm going through a bit of a difficult time and was after a bit of support or insight. Im 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I went to the EPC on Mon due to stabbing pains and bleeding. They did an internal US which showed 2 sacs. One with something in and one without. They said it could be a second baby or a clot but couldn't say for sure and booked me in for a second scan next Tues as they should be able to see more as I'll be 6 weeks.

Since then I have had on off bleeding when i wee which ranges from brown spotting to bright red gushes and the occasional clot. I just don't know what to think. Should I just be realistic and consider this a miscarriage or is there any chance the good sac is ok? Scared and confused...

It could realistically go either way. I don't want to give you false hope but at the same time, I don't want you to assume its all over.

I've been pregnant 4 times and had bleeding every time. Ive had two miscarriages, one son and I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and all seems to be well.

This pregnancy I had ridiculously heavy bright red bleeding. Heavier than a normal pregnancy for two days followed by a further week of brown sludgey stuff. They found a large clot on the scan which slowly bled out/absorbed.

Wishing you all the best and hope you get a positive outcome!

I dont have any experience of this but just wanted to say good luck and I'm sure there is a chance that the good one (or maybe both as the first scan was very very early!) is still ok!

I think it is quite common to miscarry one but the other be ok???

Hi Pickle & Tinker,

Just thought I would give you guys an update as you were kind to reply. I went for a re-scan this morning as the bleeding got worse yesterday. I am still pregnant amazingly but the bleeding has spread in my womb. They didnt say I was having a miscarriage but they didnt say I wasnt either. I am going back for another scan on Tuesday so we will see...

Hi everyone,

So had my scan this afternoon and it wasn't good news. The bleed has got so big they can't see the egg sac. They think it's behind it but don't know. Real risk of miscarriage or a major haemorrhage that could hospitalise me but the just don't know. Awful not knowing. They have signed me off till next Wed. I have a rescan next Tues as only way they can tell. What an emotional rollercoaster...??

Good luck Almond... I have been in exactly the same position as you, twice before, so I understand how emotional you must be feeling. I lost them both, all before 7 weeks... but I am 8 weeks now and this baby is a stickler, no bleeding whatsoever.

Even if the worst should happen, keep the faith :) Much, much hugs xx

Excitedbutscared84 · 24/07/2012 17:17

Good luck almond - I have been watching your post and keeping my fingers crossed for you. Fingers crossed for you for next Tuesday and I totally agree the worst is not knowing for sure what is happening I lost a baby in May and knew it was over but the hospital said we had to wait etc and we couldnt be sure (even though I knew in my heart) and 2 days later blood test confirmed it was a MMC,
Hopefully this will just be threatened and everything will work out for you x x x

Hi Everyone

Well...not good news. Had my hcg tested and it has dropped by half in last few days Sad. Still going to the scan next week to confirm everything. At least I know where this is going now and looking forward to moving on. I think I might have to have a D&C though as I haven't had any bleeding for a week.

Back to joining the TTC forums! Thanks do much for all your support.
