I had a GTT at 28 weeks which was all clear. But urine tests at 34 weeks and 36 weeks have shown + glucose. A scan at 32 weeks indicated a "large-ish" baby, possibly around 9lb (DC1 was 9lb 4oz). No other symptoms that I'm aware of.
I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and will obviously go through all this with her then. But wondered whether anyone here who knows anything about gestational diabetes can tell me if it's possible to develop it this late in pregnancy, and if there's anything I can / should be doing about the glucose showing up in my urine.
I assume that cutting out sugar and reducing my carb intake would be a good start. But will it make a difference at this point (I have a C Section booked in 2 and half weeks time)? And should I also be cutting out things like fruit? And exercising more (I'm already swimming every day)?
Feeling guilty that my overly sweet tooth might have led me to this point, and would love some tips from others for resisting sugary treats.
