Possible UTI - call GP or midwife?

As above really - I think I may have a UTI but not sure who to call. I can't get hold of my midwife until 10am tmw morning but can just drink lots of water until then, but then assume if I need antibiotics then would need to see gp for a prescription anyway?

Anyone got any experience of this?

Thanks!

See the doc! Dont delay as you need to treat it! The midwife cant prescribe for it anyway as far as I know?

If you are feeling it then its probably already quite developed and you need anti-biotics not cranberry/water/paracetamol.

I hate UTI's! (they hate me too :( )

Speak to your surgery receptionist - you can see a GP but often a triage nurse can deal with it (and are more likely to have same-day appointments ime Wink )

GO or maternity triage. I went to triage and it took bloody hours.

Thanks everyone - GP's was shut this afternoon so called the out of hours service who told me to go down to see the doctor at the health clinic. Waited around all afternoon to see the doc to be told that he doesn't think I have a UTI, or if I do it's very mild, but he's prescribed me some pencillin anyway. However, he did say there was sugar in my urine so been told I've got to go to see either my GP or midwife tmw for a blood test to check for gestational diabetes! Bit worried now and feel exhausted but DH working late tonight so need to get DS sorted and into bed before I can relax. Just know its going to be a PITA trying to get seen at my docs tmw too Sad
