GTT - how long will I have to wait for results?

I am due to have my baby at the Rosie in Cambridge and all patients of the Rosie are given a 'glucose challenge' at 28 weeks where we have to drink lucozade then have blood taken an hour later. My results for this have come back with a slightly high glucose level after the hour, even though I'm low risk for GD, so I have been referred for a full glucose tolerance test next week. My question is, does anyone know if you get the results of a GTT on the day, the next day, next week...?

DH wants to come with me as if it's bad news he wants to help take in the information and be on hand to ask questions that I might not think of and I really would want him to be there in that case. If, however, the results don't come that day I don't think there's much point in him taking time off to spend two hours in a hospital waiting room with me while I disappear each half hour to have blood taken! the book I'll take to read for company won't whinge that it's bored

Anyone who's had experience of this, at the Rosie in particular, and could shed any light please let me know. Thanks!

The results dont come back til one or two days later here! (you dont hear anything if its negative) But diff hospitals might be diff!

Here, the results were up on the computer system by around 3pm (had last blood test at 12pm). I was at my normal routine MW appointment and she as able to check for me.

At the hospital, they just sent me away after the final test was done and I wouldn't have been given the results there and then, so there wouldn't have been any good or bad news given on that day.

Hello, here in Nottingham they call you within 24 hours if its high so that you can attend the next diabetes clinic. If they don;t phone you you haven't got it. Sounds like its a bit different everywhere from what people above have said.
