Scan at almost 7 weeks...

Hi Im 6 wks 5 days pregnant and had a bit of a bleed yesterday.Not much blood but very red and bit mucusy and enough to frighten me to death .
I've booked in to my local EPU for a scan tomorrow.Just wondering how much they will be able to see at this stage? Would there be a heartbeat yet? TIA

I had a scan at 6 weeks 2 days for similar reasons to you and although the baby was tiny and only measuring in mm's the heart beat was clear, the whole baby seemed to flicker.

You might have to have an eternal scan - unpleasant but worth it for the reassurance.

Good luck tomorrow, try and not think the worst - I'm 10 weeks and counting...

I had a scan at 7 weeks and could see baby- it was the size of a peanut!- and heartbeat. I had to have an internal but it was worth it to get a clearer picture and there is no risk to you or baby at all by having an internal scan.

I saw a sort of blob, the sac is bigger than the foetus at this stage in all likelihood, we saw the flicker of a heartbeat which was jsut amazing, I was 6+3 I think. Good luck!

I just wanted to add that I had a scan at 6 + 5 (I think) and didn't see a heartbeat. However they booked me another scan for a week later and that time there was a heartbeat, I am now 12 weeks and all is well.

So if you don't see a heartbeat, it isn't necessarily bad news either.

Good luck this afternoon. I had an external scan (on tummy) at 6+5 and could see a teeny, tiny, weekny heartbeat and a baby that looked like a baked bean.

Had my scan and they said they could see a gestation sac and a possible yolk sac and that I am measuring less than 5 weeks :-( .Ive to go back in 10 days for another scan but Im not hopeful .

I'm sorry the scan was only measuring you 4-5 weeks, are you sure about your ovulation dates? I think everyone measures differently in really early pregnancy.

I hope the scan in 10 days shows development.

Thankyou.Im pretty sure I ovulated around the 15th June (did an ov test ) .Don't know what to think.Was feeling really sad but DH has just come in and was really positive ...

I'm glad DH was positive, I was convinced I ovulated a week after all my scans have dated me.. did ovulation tests and even had an internal scan that month (to check for other issues) I think I probably ovulated 2 times... or the tests were just wrong.

I really hope you ovulated later than the tests said (hugs)

Smelly that sounds a bit like my scan, so don't lose hope. At the second scan they dated me just a few days earlier. Don't forget the embryo doubles in size every day so early on, so just a couple of days makes a huge difference.

I really feel for you though, the days between the scans were awful
