Best hair removal method for 2nd c section?

So I'm booked to have dc2 by ELCS next week, and have been advised by my consultant to remove the hair to about an inch below my previous scar (which is about a finger width below the top of the hair now). Last time, I got waxed, but I'm unsure if this will be uncomfortable, being pulled off the old scar. What have others done? Would I be better shaving, or using depilatory cream? My usual hair removal method is an epilator, but I don't fancy using that on an area I don't usually epilate! I also can't see down there, so something dh could help with would be best! Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure I shaved. I remember first time around being dry shaved by a registrar (EMCS) which was really quite unpleasant, so I didn't want that to happen again!

Do you have hair growing out of your scar? No hairs grow out of my scar, so on the rare occasions I've had a wax down there the nice lady has done around it without any problems.

IME stubble growing through a fresh scar is horribly itchy, so I would avoid shaving if possible.

My scar was totally numb for weeks so any regrowth happened sans itching.

Thanks all. Dry shaving sounds nasty Nooka, def want to avoid that! No hair on scar TallGiraffe, so perhaps it could be waxed around, as you say. I had thought that about the stubble. Good point about the numbness Panzee, my last c section was over 2 yrs ago, & the area's not all been back to life that long.

Best get a waxing appt booked then!

Petit - someone was asking about this - i am interested as may have ELC, someone said - that waxing may not be advised due to increased risk of infection????

Thanks eliza, I hadn't heard that. I did wax last time before my c section, & didn't have any problems with healing. My worry this time was whether waxing over a scar would be painful, but it seems it's the best option. I'm going to try and get it done a few days in advance, so any soreness has a chance to subside.

Well, I got waxed and it hurt a LOT! C section should be a doddle now! Grin
