What are people doing about getting wet? I am within 2mm of growing out of my coat and I certainly don't have cash for one for just 6 weeks. How are people staying dry? I'm a wheelchair user so I can't use a brolly :(

I am having this problem too - maybe try eBay? A nice poncho? I bought a cheap coat (£30) on Seraphine sale for when it gets a bit cooler.

I've started wearing DH's raincoat as mine won't zip up any more. He can just get wet!

I tried so hard to find a maternity raincoat earlier this summer, with no luck. But according to the BBC, the jet stream that's been bringing all the rain is supposed to shift direction in a week or so and then we're supposed to get real summer weather -- so maybe we won't need coats or umbrellas anymore. We can certainly hope!

Thanks for the replies - I guess I'll start crossing my fingers due to me being fat sitting when out DH's coat won't really fit in another week or so either... maybe I can start putting on my coat backwards, I'll look odd but at least I'll be dry Grin

It was supposed to be sunny with - perhaps - light showers. Rain cover for torrential downpours was not on my shopping list! I've also taken to wearing my DH's raincoat (which does nothing for me but at least I'm dry). Hopefully that jet-stream will move back into position soon!

I got a coat from a charity shop that is a 'swing' style so it has lots of extra room for a bump - bizarrely it's a 10 and I am more a 16-18 but it's got growing room in it. No hood though so my head just gets wet!

SomedayIllFlyAway · 17/07/2012 22:05

I have asked my mum to lend me hers (she is a 16-18, and I am a 12 normally and just about growing out of my waterproof).

My alternative option is to pick up a cheap poncho - places like poundland sell them, and I think Asda etc do them to with their travel stuff.

I'm 21 weeks pg and was getting fed up with not quite being able to do up my usual (very fitted) coat over bump, so I've bought a raincoat in a size larger from eBay for about £6 including postage as I didn't see the point in buying a new one that would only be used for the next few months (until the rain stops and the snow starts, grump grump grump). It's not particularly flattering across the shoulders etc, but it does up, so a success!

I'm using a spare rain coat of my Mums, shes a size 16. Can you borrow one from a friend or get one from a charity shop?
