Hi all,

DD is 18mo and I recall at that time we had a pregnancy grant of £190 plus a baby bond which you could pay into a child trust fund and then child benefit too which everyone was entitled to regardless of income etc.

I know the pregnancy grant is no longer available but has anyone heard of the child trust fund bond is still available?

The child trust fund money has been stopped. At least, I'm 99% certain it has. . Child trust funds in have been stopped and replaced by junior isas but you no longer get a contribution to start them off.

And child benefit will no longer be available to all, as if 2013, it'll be means tested.

Yes child trust fund has stopped, along with the health in pregnancy grant. Some women are eligible for a surestart maternity grant still, but as you have a child already it doesn't sound like you meet the criteria.

Yes, both of those have been stopped, I have had a baby this year and got neither of them.

Thanks all - thought as much. Just trying to figure out what, if anything, we need to get sorted when the baby arrives next week.

Might just open a junior isa.
