Antenatal classes - too late?!

Just a quick question, due 3rd week in October. Got my NCT antenatal classes booked for Sept, is that too late?!

Is it an 8 week course or a weekend?

If it's the former then you may miss the end but I wouldn't worry too much because they do the really important stuff at the beginning.

I think I started my NCT classes at around 28-30 weeks.

Babygirlpw · 16/07/2012 22:56

Its about 11 hours spread over 2 evenings, a morning and a weekend. All done and dusted by end of Sept. I guess they would have said if I'm leaving it too late.

Sounds about right then. You don't want to forget it all when the big day comes!

Flisspaps · 16/07/2012 23:06

DD is 2yo, I've still not had any AN classes Wink

I'm pregnant with my 3rd child, and never went to any classes. A good book on childbirth and babies can be just as useful.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 17/07/2012 15:54

I'm due very beginning of October and my NCT classes (booked by due date) start mid august - so I think you're spot on :)

I'm also due 3rd week in October and my NCT classes start beginning of September -sounds like it's pretty standard. Perhaps we're in the same class Wink

Beans1977 · 17/07/2012 16:37

Sounds right to me. I'm due 20th Sept and started my NCT class on Saturday - but nearly all of the rest of the group are due in August, so are all around 34-36 weeks.

Runningblue · 17/07/2012 20:35

Ask the organiser if the other woman have similar due dates- they usually bunch people to help with the friendship element of the experience. Not too late !

Babygirlpw · 17/07/2012 21:24

Thanks everyone.

Cakeandcava - where abouts are you?

I'm pretty much same as you - due 25 Oct and my last NCT class is 19 Sept. That was the course the NCT website recommended based on my EDD

cakeandcava · 17/07/2012 22:52

I'm in Edinburgh -I think my class is spread over 3 evenings pluss one weekend though, so probably not the same -would be quite a coincidence if it was! :)

DitaVonCheese · 18/07/2012 08:40

If you wanted to do something earlier then you could look into doing something like Lazy Daisy as well if they have them near you.

MsElisaDay · 18/07/2012 15:21

I'm exactly the same as you, due 3rd week in October and I begin the classes on September 4.
It's a five-week course, two hours each Monday evening. So I guess there's a chance I could miss the last one if they arrive early, but the timing sounds sensible to me. I want it all to be fresh in my mind!
